Cirque Colors: Night Sky & Lynnderella: Dark Star!

I love when I can use my 2 favorite brands together and tonight I got to do just that!

Cirque Colors is a NYC based indie brand. Annie, the owner, is incredibly talented and very sweet. I've met her a few times at her sample sales in Brooklyn and she couldn't be a nicer person. One thing I really love about Cirque is that you can tell Annie puts her all into every color she makes. She puts so much care and thought into her collections and it shows. I've been a huge fan of Cirque's from the brands inception and I swear by every single one I own. Cirque's are scented. I don't know how to describe the scent so this is taken directly from Cirque's website:

"Each bottle holds 0.45 Fl. Oz. of product and contains high quality essential oils, such as lavender and clary sage, to lend your hands a subtle scent after the polish dries."

I love the way the polishes smell. It's unique and a really nice touch.

Night Sky is a deep blue linear holo. It's lighter than navy and really does look like a night sky. The holo is very prominent. Cirque's holos have a great formula. They apply smooth and look flawless. I used 2 coats for full opacity with no top coat.




















Then I added Lynnderella's Dark Star. DS is a Paulish. Lynn's brother, Paul, chose the name. I know some of them are inspired gv The Grateful Dead. I'm not sure if this is one of those since I'm not a Dead fan, but whatever the reason behind the name, it fits the polish perfectly. I've been lucky enough to snag almost all the Paulishes and I love them all. Dark Star has a clear base with blue shimmer and has black, silver, pink and blue glitters in different shapes and sizes. There are lots of stars, moons and mini stars. Plus scattered holo micro glitter. DS applies nicely, it's not too thick or thin. I used 2 coats with Dior's Gel top coat. Lynnderella: Until there was Blue, SoNoHo, Flat Irony & Red Moon at Night!

Tonight I have 4 amazing Lynnderella's I received from Paul this weekend for review. I was so excited to try all these and they don't disappoint!

First, I'll talk about the new fall collection. It's called Fall in Love with New York, and there are 9 colors. Paul sent me 2 and I have 4 more coming to me this week that will be up here soon. This new collection really means a lot to me, seeing as how I was born, raised and still live in New York. Lynn captured fall in New York perfectly!

The first one up is Flat Irony. I didn't think I'd like this color at all, but it trend out to be my favorite one from the batch. It's a burnt orange/red micro glitter with a black base. The formula is perfect. It dries to an almost matte finish, so I've showed the color both with and without a top coat so you can see the difference because there is one. I am in love with this color and I regret not wearing it last so I could continue wearing it for the next few days without reapplying and wasting. I used 2 coats alone for full opacity. With and without top coat in artificial lighting.




















Next up is another color from the new fall collection, called SoNoHo. SNH is filled blue and purple glitter. Lynn describes them as cobalt and orchid. There are orchid circles, and tons of orchid and cobalt hexes in different sizes. I wanted to show SNH over a few different colors so you can see what it looks like. This polish is very thick and may require a few drops of thinner. I used one coat of SNH with the dab & pull method and it was almost too much. It's a beautiful glitter, though, and I really love the colors. From L-R I used as undies: Illamasqua Fern, Illamasqua Cameo, Illamasqua Nurture and Illamasqua Stance. Two coats each of the illamasqua's and 1 coat of SoNoHo. No top coat. All photos taken in artificial light.











Next up I have a new, unreleased (at the time of this post) limited edition color called Until there was Blue! Not to be confused with 'Till there was Blue. UTWB is another blue and purple glitter with some magenta thrown in. There's a ton of shimmer in this polish. There are very light purple hexes, dark purple hexes, blue holo circles and so much more. This is another blue home run from Lynn. I used Christian Dior in Electric Blue as the undies, 2 coats. 1 coat of Until there was Blue (it is a bit on the thick side, but applies well) and no top coat. Photos are all in artificial light.





















Last up is the newest addition to the Light Year collection, Red Moon at Night. I feel like Paul read my mind sending me this because I really wanted it. And it's really awesome in person. RMAN is packed with shimmer and holo. It has matte and holo glitters in black, blue and red. It has red holo moons and lots of hexes, squares, circles and stars. This is another glitter that's so dense it lies a bit on the thicker side, so 1 coat will suffice. I wanted to show this color over a dark color & a light color so you can see the difference. I used Illamasqua in Load (3 coats) as the light base and OPI in 4 in the Morning (2 coats) as the dark. 1 coat of RMAN and no top coat. Artificial lighting again.

Manglaze: Royal Matterimoaning & Cabron!

Tonight I have two polishes from one of my very favorite brands: Manglaze!

Manglaze is a polish brand marketed toward men, but it's unisex. The polishes are all matte with a subtle shimmer. They really are the most perfect matte polishes I've ever used. The formula is so smooth and perfect, and they look fantastic if you add a top coat and want them glossy as well. I like to wear my manglaze's as they were made, the matte look is fantastic paired with the colors they use. Each bottle also comes with multiple labels you can choose.

Royal Matterimoaning is a navy blue matte color with a shimmer and Cabron is a deep purple color with a shimmer.

I used 2 coats for both polishes. Photos were taken indoors, artificial light.

Lynnderella: The Modern Mermaid!

Tonight I have a gorgeous Lynnderella to show you called The Modern Mermaid!

Lynn has a bunch of different mermaid themed polishes. She also has unicorn ones (my personal favorite and all of them are a must have for my collection) and more recently, kitty ones. I've been lucky enough to snag a bunch of these polishes and I love them all. I particularly love this one.

MM is a green based teal micro glitter. It has some teal shimmer and it's super holo. There are some great accents in this polish that sets it apart from other teal micro glitters. It's filled with holo and matte accents - tons of circles and triangle glitters. The consistency is perfect. It applies flawlessly.

I used 2 coats of modern mermaid for full opacity and Lynnderella's Glitter Tamer as the top coat.

Lynnderella: Getting to Know Blue!

Tonight I have a Lynnderella that was sent to me by Paul for review. I was sent a few, but I want to tackle them each separately so all my attention is focused.

So for starters, the undies I used are Fantasy Makers by Wet N Wild in Ghouls Rush In. It's one of the Halloween releases in the tombstone bottle. The color is a neon orange and it has sort of a rubber finish that I really like. I love neons, especially neon green and neon orange.

Getting to Know Blue is a limited edition Lynnderella that was released some months back. It's still available on their eBay store from time to time. GTKB has a clear base and scattered micro glitter. It has black, white and different shades of blue glitters. There are squares, stars, diamonds, bars and different sized hexes. I'm not sure if there are any other shapes since I didn't get any. I love this glitter. It's a thick one, so you should dab and pull. Also, one coat is more than enough.

I used 3 coats of Ghouls rush in, one coat of Getting to Know Blue and Dior's Gel Top Coat.
